Chemical Engineer: (Port Lavaca, TX):
Review daily process conditions, including power production, steam production, gas products production as well as utility consumption. Interact with Operations and Maintenance personnel as needed to troubleshoot and diagnose problem areas in the process. Monitor Alarm Management Systems (AMS) to collect high-frequency alarms to study reducing nuisance alarms. Model changes in pressure, temperature, flow rate, piping dimensions and etc. to improve the safety and efficiency of the CFB power plant and Air Separation Plant (ASP2). Propose and execute process modifications to increase boiler system reliability and steam system stability. Prepare and execute Capital Improvement (B-1) and Management of Change (MOCs) projects to completion. Assist with elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) such as Process Safety Information (PSI) updates, Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews, and P&ID modifications. Verify process data and calculate as needed to provide accurate accounting for quarterly and annual reporting to the EHS Department. Assist in developing reports for Corporate and Local management departments.
Requires Bachelor’s degree Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or relevant (or foreign equivalent) + 2 years of relevant experience or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials, engineering, or relevant (or foreign equivalent).
